The Office of Fair Trading (OFT), now the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA), has published guidance on the standards consumers should expect from price comparison websites. This page sets out how Compare My Heating Oil complies with that guidance.
Compare My Heating Oil is operated by TMR Digital Ltd (company number 15550089), registered in England and Wales.
All suppliers are listed and ranked by price. We do not accept payment to rank a supplier higher or lower than their price warrants. At the time of writing we do not have a commercial relationship with any supplier listed on this site.
In future, if we enter referral arrangements with suppliers, those suppliers will be identified with a "Sponsored" label. Payment of a referral fee will not affect a supplier's ranking position. The ranking methodology will not change.
Compare My Heating Oil currently surveys 60 named UK heating oil suppliers. We do not claim to cover every heating oil supplier in the UK. Small, local or unlisted suppliers may not appear in our results. Where we are aware that our coverage is incomplete for a particular area, we note this on the relevant page.
Prices shown on this site are indicative only and are updated each weekday morning. Heating oil prices change daily and sometimes more frequently. The actual price you are quoted by a supplier at the time of order may differ from the indicative price shown on this site.
All prices shown include 5% VAT (the reduced rate applicable to domestic fuel) and a standard delivery charge. They are based on a 500-litre order unless otherwise stated. Prices may vary for different volumes, locations, and delivery speeds.
Indicative prices are derived from our own daily supplier survey. Supplier profile information - including fleet sizes, coverage areas, and UKIFDA membership status - is sourced from publicly available industry publications, supplier websites and Companies House filings. We update profile information periodically but it may not always reflect the most current position of a given supplier.
When you purchase heating oil from a supplier found via this site, your contract is with that supplier - not with Compare My Heating Oil or TMR Digital Ltd. Your statutory consumer rights apply to that contract. If you have a dispute with a supplier, you should contact the supplier directly in the first instance. UKIFDA members are bound by the UKIFDA Code of Practice.
